Monitoring Tools
You can use s-tui for monitoring temps and usage (and running stress-ng if you have it as well).
You can also use sudo powerstat -R to look at CPU power package usage.
Of course btop can work.
If you want to look at GPU nvtop can work for iGPU + dGPU
Linux Stress Testing
stress-ng for CPU (although using s-tui is probably better since you can see everything at once)
For GPU, you can run llama-bench with extra repetitions or glxgears should work as well:
glxgears -swapinterval 0
For memory, https://www.numberworld.org/y-cruncher/ is a classic option For GPU memory testing:
- AMD
- Nvidia
Window Stress Testing
There are lots of options but OCCT https://www.ocbase.com/occt/personal is a good all-in-one option. Otherwise, the classic combo is:
- https://www.mersenne.org/download/ - Prime95, small FFT
Web-Only Stress Testing
If you only have a web browser and want to max out CPU, I’ve found this to work well:
- https://tangx246.github.io/cpustresser/index.html Set workers to 2 x threads and it should be able to get things up to 100% usage
For GPU, https://www.shadertoy.com/ is the way to go.
- https://www.shadertoy.com/view/4ttSWf - iq’s Rainforest is able to max out a Radeon 780M GPU
